It is has been awhile since I wrote a rant so here we go, time to let off some steam. I may sound hypocritical in these rants but I dont care. I admitted that I am a hypocrite at times. Everyone is hypocrite so no one is perfect.
My taste in music is very interesting to say the least, you look at the stuff on my iPod and you know what I mean. So what I like, I listen to, and what I dont like, I dont listen to. But there are two songs currently that I cant stand whatsoever and do not understand how or why they became so popular. One is I Kissed a Girl by Katy Perry and the other is that Numa Numa song that has become a hit on the Internet.
Okay so maybe most of my viewers know or heard of the I Kissed a Girl song and have a general understanding of what it means. Now I am not gay or bi-sexual myself or speak for the gay community but what is so special about it? Also I have nothing against gays either, I respect them.
Is the artist, Katy Perry, really a lesbian and this was a way to come out of the closet? Has anyone heard of the Russian band t.A.T.u who are well known for their song All The Things She Said? Because earlier on the two main singers put forth an image of a lesbian couple but later revealed that it was just part of the groups image and they arent really lesbians. They said also said it was during a point in their lives when they were going through sexual identity.
Once again I do not speak for the gay community so I dont know if they reacted at all upon hearing the two main singers of t.A.T.u are not really lesbians or how they reacted to Katy Perrys song. With the Bruno movie that just came out, I heard people were upset on how it portrays gay stereotypes.
But back to my main point, which is that it seems the only way for a pop star to make it big in the music industry is to write a song about a gay experience. Oh and only girl pop stars can do this because a song about to guys kissing is gross to the music industry. Mainly American males think with their dicks so much that they whack off to two hot girls making out when not all lesbians are what we (men) want them to be.
Call me a fucking pussy if you want to but I have more respect to the opposite sex than wanting to just screw them because they are hot! But how much do you want to bet to see if some hot GUY pop star gets a big deal if he writes a song about being gay?
Now the last song that I mentioned that has become known as The Numa Numa Song. You can go on Youtube, type it in, and see countless versions of it. Either way, to me, it is really FUCKING ANNOYING!!!! When I first heard this song, I swear I lost a bit of my IQ. I cant understand how it became a big hit on the Internet (along with Crank That by Souja Boy).
In fact, it is so annoying to me that I will have a breakdown when listening to it. During my sophomore year of high school at our pep rally they played a little audio clip of that song and I did have a small breakdown. I was around my friends who, like me, are weird and they knew that I hate this song. Plus it was short so no teacher saw this happen to me and called my folks.
So if you ever meet me, dont play this song in my presence or you will see a side of me you thought I would never had.
That is my latest rant and it feels so good to let off some steam.
